I came to a small attic

Not knowing what to do

Everyone can't handle me, I'm too "dramatic"

It feels like I'm playing with the Nazis, getting ready to lose.

My mother's motherness, I begin to loathe

My fear gives me nightmares, Everyone knows

I mask in happiness to show

someday we're not going to hide anymore

I am not rude, I'm straight forward

I make my days great

There is a whole other road I'm heading toward

I am who I am, one you can't rate

Peter and I sometimes might rumble

involuntary start some trouble

But after that day, he kissed me

Now we probably could get a little more friendly.

It has been about a year of hiding

The adults are having problems of dividing

There is a lesson that we haven't learned yet

But you can't blame anyone, because I'm definetely not perfect.

Character Analysis

Margot

When asked to type about a character from the Anne Frank Play, I decided to type about a not really known character. I am doing this post about Margot. Margot is Anne Frank's older sister, and unfortunately another victim who has to be in hiding at this point. She is eighteen years old and shy. You can say that she is one of those people who always keep to themselves.

So far in the play, Margot is just a witness of everything. It doesn't seem like her intelligence is put is use at all. She is a innocent bystander of all the arguments and fighting, and Margot never does anything SO dramatic. For example, in Scene 3, she is just there because Mr. Frank is checking her studies. Margot doesn't really say any lines at that moment.

Her relationship with most of the characters in the play is great. Everyone seems to love her, except for Anne. Surprising isn't it? Her own little sister, but there is a reason why. In scene 3, Mrs. Frank is angry at Anne because she was talking back after accidentally spilling milk all over Mrs. Van Daan's very expensive coat. So she starts comparing Anne to Margot, and Anne definitely didn't appreciate that. Margot is totally the opposite of Anne.

One line that for some reason caught my attention was "Don't worry, it's just a phase. Girls these age give all their love to their fathers." I chose this line because at this moment in the play, Margot is the one giving Mrs. Frank the helpful advice. In the beginning of Scene 4, Anne was having a bad nightmare. Mrs. Frank was really trying and trying to comfort her, but it didn't seem to work. Anne seems only comfortable with Mr. Frank. I chose this line because i could somewhat relate to it. At some pints in my life, I would rather be with one parent over the other. Or vise-versa.

Act One, Scene 1-4

The main characters involved in scene 1 are Mr. Frank and Miep. The scene starts off with Mr. Frank walking into his business building in Amsterdam, Holland. Miep, a twenty-two year old Dutch girl comes up after him. Miep soon finds out that Mr. Frank is leaving the business, and leaving Amsterdam as well. She tries to convince him to stay, but it doesn't seem to work. Mr. Frank actually tells Meip to burn all documents involving the business, but while doing that, Miep discovers something very important. She found Anne Frank's diary. Scene 1 ends with Anne's voice narrating her first entry of her dairy. Which was when she starts going into hiding because of the Nazi's persecution of the Jews.

Scene 2 is mainly about everyone going into hiding in an attic of a business building. Waiting inside are Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan. Their son Peter, who is sixteen and awkward is also there. The Frank family arrive with the help of a man named Mr. Kraler. He is a very dependableDutchman. Once everyone gets acquainted Mr. Kraler and Meip leave to go get some ration books, but they had to make sure no one's real names were on there. consider this the "white market." Anne ends up meeting Peter Van Daan, who seems to recognize her from school. Peter starts to rip off his Star of David and burn it,but Anne doesn't have the courage to. It was only until later on in the day when Anne officially knows she is in hiding. She gets pulled back by her father as she was trying to walk to the offices to get a pen for her diary. the scene ends with Anne writing in her diary one month later, mainly about how her mother is truly unbearable.
In the beginning of Scene 3, everyone is silent and waiting for all the workmen of the office to leave. Once the last person left, Anne gets excited steals Peter's shoes. He chases her around and finally gets them back. Mrs. Frank actually has a bit of an argument with Anne about her childish behavior. But her only response was that she despised being treated like an adult, she wanted to have fun. Another little fight Between her and peter begin as Peter starts teasing Anne by calling her Mrs. Quack Quack, the nickname she earned at school. Anne gets very insulted and throws Peter's clothes down the stairwell, and Peter is running down chasing after them. Around the time of dinner, Anne is gesturing and explaining to Mr. Van Daan how she wants to study music and art in Paris. While doing this, she accidentally spills a glass of mild onto Mrs. Van Daan's expensive fur coat. Mrs. Frank gets mad and start comparing Anne to her sister Margot,k who seems to be the good and respectful one. At the end of the scene, Mr. Kraler comes by with a man. His name is Mr. Dussel, and is now going to stay with everyone in hiding.

    Scene 4 starts off with Anne screaming and crying because of a nightmare she is having.  Her nightmare was actually about how the green police find Anne and start taking her away.  Everyone there wakes up, only to go back to sleep.  When Mrs. Frank tries to comfort her own daughter, she repeatedly gets a turned away face.  Mrs. Frank couldn't even get a good night kiss.  Worried and out of Anne's room, Margot comforts her by saying that all of this is just a phase.  On how girls this age give all their love to their fathers.  So that is when Mr. Frank finds himself sitting with Anne on the bed talking.  Scene 4 ends with Anne once again narrating one of her dairy entries.  There are more and more jets now flying over the attic.  Anne thought that this could be a sign that the war is almost over, and she could have her normal life back.

What is Drama?

First of all, drama is a complex word. Some view it as issues or problems among each other. Or when there is a lot going on that's hard to handle. Drama is also a genre, drama has to do with acting in plays. I'll explain..........
Drama in literature is reading plays that are meant to be performed. A play is a production put together with actors portraying characters. A pretend life lived in front of people.And a play always has a theme, which is the base of the play. There are seven main options: love, redemption,revenge,war,tragedy,family, and bravery.But there is more to drama than just a plain script, the script is not plain! The actors can't just say without knowing how to say. That is why there are stage directions.Stage directions are actual directions placed in paranthesis in a script. These are how the director wants the actors and actresses to feel and move. A script also contains dialogue of course! Dialogue is the written out conversations in a script. This is where most of the action takes place, what the people say!.

Once a play is all written out in the script, it is time to perform. And this all happens up on the stage. There are three types of stages, but they all work in the same way. Just don't think that is all you need. If you want a production to be completely outstanding, you need music and lighting. Music and lighting generally make the view and sound much more interesting. But timing is key! Every single second counts, you need precision and be focuse if you want to make this work. Perhaps one of the most important parts of a play is the costumes. You can't act medieval if you are wearing jeans and a tank top. The costume designer had to make sure he or she design with the time and theme in mind. And pay attention to every detail, including the fabrics and the sizes.
